March 11, 2013 We
received about 3” of new snow here at the lodge I have heard as much
as 6”-8” near Lake Superior. Conditions are still in great shape. The
groomers are still grooming on a regular schedule. Total snow depth
across the arrowhead region range from 24”-36”. Report by

March 01, 2013 Started
February 24th thru 27th, we had a group up to the Shore for a few days
of riding. Rode the State Trail from
Duluth up to Grand Marais it was in excellent condition. Rode the
Expressway to Trail Center which was also in
excellent shape. The Gunflint was good up to Gunflint Lake, but from
there to the end hadn't been groomed for a while but we made it. We
also rode from Gunflint Lake up to Northern Lights Lake in Ontario,
trail 902M was in perfect condition as well. From Northern Lights we
rode the lakes over to Saganaga and back down the Gunflint. That is a
fun ride just follow the most worn tracks on the lakes and it gets you
there. We also rode the Yukon from Two Harbors to Knotted Pine, smooth
as glass, and sweet new shelters along the trail. Tomahawk
over to Ely was as good as it has ever been, 4 mile stretch plowed for
logging, but had enough snow for hyfax lube. Rode lakes down to
Babbitt and back to Tomahawk. We had a 4 day total of 940 miles and
only had 20 miles of semi rough trail. Hats off to the clubs and State
guys for doing such a good job with the snow they have. It should
stick around for a while. Report by

19, 2013 We
have received about 3” of new snow over the past two weekends. Trail
conditions are in great shape. We did see a lot of traffic this
weekend and trails got pretty beat up. The groomers are out as
we speak getting the trails back in shape for the upcoming weekend. I
would say total snow fall is approximately 24” +. Report by

Well we did get a great
snow fall last night. We received about 8”-10” here at the lodge. I
have heard greater amounts closer to Lake Superior. I’m heading to
town this morning so I will see what the conditions look like. We have
2ft + of snow here at the lodge and the trails should be in great
shape after the groomers get out throughout the week. This snow is
what we needed. Report by

February
01, 2013 Well we have not had much
recent snow a few flurries and very light accumulation over the past
week. We have had several snowmobilers through this week. Overall
reports have been pretty good, some trails are better than others but
overall very rideable. This past Monday I rode to the Trestle Inn for
lunch. The state trail was in great shape, I had a group ride there
yesterday and they said the same thing. We could still use more snow
to give the groomers more material to work with but they have been out
doing the best that they can for the conditions that exist. Current
weather clear and cold I had -23 here at the lodge this morning and it
is currently -15. Cook County Snowmobile Clubs Annual Fun Run is
tomorrow. Stay Warm!!! Have a great day! Report by

Well we got some more snow last night. We picked up 3" of new snow here at the lodge. I have heard amounts of 6 plus inches closer to Lake Superior. The
groomers have been out today and all of the trails are groomed. We are forecasted for more snow early next week. Current Snow cover in the
Mid-Gunflint Trail area 12+ inches. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the snow keeps coming. It is currently 10 degrees outside and lightly snowing.

January 14, 2013 Good Afternoon,
Well things did not pan out for us as far as snow over the weekend. We did get a significant amount of rain on Friday and temps in the upper 30s. Then the temps dropped below zero. With all of the rain everything is frozen rock hard. I would say we have about 4-8 inches of snow cover in the woods. Snowmobiling is pretty rough going until we get more snow. The lakes did flood so there is a lot of glare ice. We have been getting a few flurries but nothing significant. There is the chance of snow tomorrow evening into Wed. morning and again on Friday.
The trout fisherman I had staying here this past weekend had good success overall fishing. Access to remote lakes via snowmobile (through the portages) has been difficult with the lack of snow cover.
